Our school will be located in the historic Birchcliffe Centre, ready for the school’s opening next year on 5th September 2016.
It has large beautiful classrooms, a great hall, a kitchen and all the facilities we need including magnificent woodland space for permaculture projects. It oozes history and sharing the space with Pennine Heritage will help students connect Hebden’s rich local history to that of the wider world.
It is centrally located, only 15 minutes walk from the train station, with a bus service. We will be the town’s first secondary school since the 1950s when Hebden Bridge Grammar School closed its doors. We are very fortunate to be collaborating with Pennine Heritage who own the Birchcliffe and share much of our ethos. They are looking forward to working with us as partners to create an excellent environment for learning.
We are looking to stay in the building for the first 2-3 years while we establish ourselves. We will then find a larger building to accommodate our full size of 100 students.
Open days will be running monthly until June 2016 and the first is on January 24th. Admissions will begin in the new year.
