George Monbiot is our first Patron.

As a school, we are looking for Patrons to come on board who can make a positive contribution to our educational environment. We are particularly keen to invite those with whom we share values and have inspired us in our lives. We are delighted to announce that George Monbiot will be our first patron. His values resonate with ours, from democracy to interconnected learning, from nature being our classroom to creative responses to the challenges of our times. His relentlessly inquiring spirit coupled with his intelligent determination to stand up to greed, injustice and environmental destruction are a great example to our children, not to mention our teachers!

George is a British writer, known for his environmental and political activism. He writes a weekly column for The Guardian, and is the author of a number of books, including Captive State: The Corporate Takeover of Britain (2000) and Feral: Searching for Enchantment on the Frontiers of Rewilding (2013). His latest work is, How did we get into this mess?: Politics, Equality, Nature. He is the founder of The Land is Ours, a peaceful campaign for the right of access to the countryside and its resources in the United Kingdom.
